Die Software verfügt über eine laufend gepflegte Datenbank mit den weltweiten Kosten von Material, Maschinen, Lohn und Energie. Zudem werden bei der Berechnung der Herstellungskosten beispielsweise die Leistungsdaten von zahlreichen weltweit eingesetzten Maschinen, die Maschineneingriffszeiten und der Einsatz verschiedener Werkzeuge und Fertigungsmethoden sowie die entsprechenden Bearbeitungszeiten berücksichtigt.

The ONET software is a server application accessed via a browser-based web interface (WebUI), allowing to set up, administrate and control a network of FT-NIR instruments from a central remote location anywhere in the world. All data measured on local spectrometers are centrally stored.

Nevertheless, all data and required files are still available locally, which allows the analysis of samples at any time even when the network is temporarily disconnected.

FT-NIR spectroscopy has become extremely important for quality control tasks due to its ease of use for routine operators.
